Initiating, conducting and bringing together
The central tasks of the Innovation Foundation of the State of Schleswig-Holstein (ISH) are to bring together key players from science and industry and to initiate technology transfer from universities to enterprises.The ISH is a public private partnership model between the State of Schleswig-Holstein and the companies E.ON Hanse and E.ON Energie and has a total capital of 82.7 million Euro. The returns on investments enable the ISH to cofinance the development of innovative products and processes in the fields of technology, energy and climate protection. Parties from politics, science and industry as well as the public are involved in the innovation process.
The ISH is always on the lookout for exciting commercial applications that arise from first-class regional research. In addition, the ISH cofinances and conducts university projects as well as its own initiatives, supports the publication of studies and thematic workshops. Current topics are bioenergy, image processing and nanomaterials. Another focus is support in the form of grants ranging from 6 to12 months for young academics that are in the process of setting up technologically oriented start-ups.
Medium-term tasks of the ISH are:
- To observe and analyse technologically based innovations
- To observe and analyse developments in the energy industry and climate protection as well as to carry out pilot and demonstration projects
- To build up professional competence in fields with economic potential for the region of Schleswig-Holstein
- To promote innovations by supporting knowledge transfer from science to industry
- To support new innovative university start-ups
- To create a technology friendly climate by supporting cooperation between schools and enterprises
